DIRECTIONS
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The workshop will provide
participants with an introduction to the application of
acting techniques to presentation skills. Goal: to help
participants increase their comfort level as presenters, and
develop tools to speak in public with greater authority,
clarity and conviction.
WORKSHOP OVERVIEW
Participants should come
prepared with a three to five minute work- related
presentation. The selection may be anything
participants decide they want to work on, and may be
self-contained or an excerpt from a longer presentation.
Participants will not have access to PowerPoint.
A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ACT
PROFESSIONAL
Act Professional is a training and
consulting company dedicated to the application of acting
techniques and principles of theatre to organizational and
business settings. In the broadest sense, we help people
with their “come-across” - how they present themselves to
the outside world. Our use of acting and theatre as a
learning platform allows for interactive, experiential
learning that is resonant, memorable and enjoyable. Act
Professional offers training and coaching in presentation
skills, job interview skills and building executive
presence.
Adam
Grupper (Act Professional President) is a professional
actor, coach and trainer. He has provided individual
coaching and designed workshops for clients including The
Four Freedoms Fund, Estee Lauder, UNICEF, WITNESS and
Lighthouse International. He is also a lead trainer and
facilitator with the consulting company Performance of a
Lifetime, conducting workshops for leading businesses
including PricewaterhouseCoopers, Citigroup, Booz Allen
Hamilton and Barclays Bank. Adam balances his work as a
coach and trainer with a successful career as a professional
actor. His performance credits include seven Broadway
productions and numerous film and television appearances.
